Morning Skincare Routine

Thursday, 14 December 2017

Hello and Merry Christmas!

It feels like ages since I sat down to write about all things beauty and skincare, so that's exactly what I am going to do today.

I'm always trying out new products, but after years of trial and error, I think I have finally found what works for me. I am no skincare expert, but just from my own experience, I have learned (the hard way) how important a good skincare routine is...

In my teens I would buy my cleansers and moisturizers from the supermarket. It was only when I turned 22 that I began to question why I still had 'teenage spots'. While everyone is different, I know for sure that those facial scrubs did not help my situation in the slightest. I would literally scrub my face until it was raw red with the belief that it would help clear my skin. I have since learned that our skin is very delicate and needs lots of care. My skin is also quite sensitive so I need to be extra careful with what I use.

Image Vital C Cleanser
One of my absolute favorite, skin-changing products is the IMAGE Vital C Cleanser. Its so hydrating and leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean. Its most certainly not the cheapest cleanser on the market, but it works!! I don't believe that you have to buy expensive skincare products to get flawless skin. I do think that a lot of the expensive products are useless and you are just paying for the big name and shiny packaging.

But trust me, this product does work. Its packaging is very simple, so basically the product does all the talking. It's definitely worth giving it a try or if you can get your hands on a sample to try. I wish I had discovered this cleanser sooner. I will buying this one over and over, that's for sure.

 Avene Thermal Spring Water

This is great reducing redness, irritation etc. I use this in the morning to awaken my skin and give me a soft natural glow. I carry it around in my handbag and use it throughout the day when I need to freshen up. I also use it to set my make-up and when I remove my makeup. This is just an all rounder really. Avene can honestly do no wrong.

Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner

I was a bit afraid trying out this at the beginning. The idea of having a layer of skin stripped off didn't sound appealing. However, I must admit, my skin has never looked so good since I started using this. It looks so much brighter and healthier. The only thing I would say is, be EXTRA careful with the sun after using this, it does make the skin more sensitive to UV rays. I always use a moisturizer and foundation with an SPF, even in the winter.

Avene Anti-Redness Moisturizer

Avene, my go-to skincare range. I have tried heaps of the Avene skincare products and each is better than the next. I particularly love the Anti-redness moisturizer. It is the first moisturizer I have come across that actually significantly reduces redness. Amazing product.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

I use this as a mask once a week, or when my skin is looking particularly dull. I put a thick layer on cleansed skin and leave it for five minutes. It not only give a glow but also leaves the skin feeling nice and firm.

Eucerin Hyaluron Filler Eye Cream

If you're on the hunt for a good eye cream, I recommend giving this one a go. Its so reasonable and actually works. It definitely reduces the appearance of fine lines and dark circles. it also sits well under make-up.

I hope you found this useful in some way!

Lots of love,

Naomi

*You can buy Image skincare in a selected few salons. I usually get mine from Buff Day Spa in Dublin city center - https://www.thebuffdayspa.com/
